On March 31 we were pleased to hear from Pat Milligan from the UVU business program. He has previously worked for Game Stop and Kraft Foods and did the brand management for the Oreo cookie when it was 100 years old. For a part of the capstone project at UVU the students worked with businesses in Germany. German businesses are masters of planning. Pat helps his students understand all of the small details that make German businesses, like Mercedes-Benz, run phenomenally well. At the UVU Smart Lab they even use a unique technology called electroencephalography (EEG) that tracks the emotions of test clients in order to provide feedback on how customers react to adds. To find out more about this ingenious technology, watch this Youtube video.

On March 24 we heard from Ray Gunn, who is the general manager of the Lindon Mercedes-BenzRay and also a pending member of the Provo Rotary Club. Ray decided to get involved in the community because of a gift from the Larry H Miller family. The gift is a card that describes the Larry Miller mission, To Enrich Lives. Ray discussed this idea with his wife and son and they decided what they would to each day to enrich the life of someone. Ray then invited each of us to consider what we can do to enrich the lives of others. After that thoughtful invitation, Ray explained the ins and outs of leasing vehicles. On March 31 we will be please to hear from Patrick Milligan and he will present to us on the UVU MBA capstone project.
This past week on March 17 we were privileged to hear from Mike Kipp, a former n avy SEAL who is now running for county commissioner. He gave us many details about Navy SEAL training. Here are a few of the details from his time as a SEAL.  The navy SEAL training includes some of the most intense practices including drowning proofing, hell week, and being shot at. All of these are to make sure a navy seal can make it through any situation and not break under pressure. As you can imagine, a high percentage of navy seal candidates are unable to make it through the training. Mike Kipp was a SEAL during the Vietnam war. A couple of highlights from his experiences are that he  stole two nuclear submarines fro the enemy and he t ook secret photos in the middle of the Hai phong harbor, a heavily guarded military base for the Vietnamese.  Tomorrow we are excited to hear from Ray Gunn of the Mercedez-Benz in Lindon, who is also a pending new member of the Provo Rotary Club.

This past week we were happy to hear from Mike Plowman with Bridle Up Hope. This organization uplifts and encourages women ages 12-25 through private riding lessons and by being naturally taught the seven habits of highly effective teens. Each girl is taught to have a plan for their ride and a plan for their life. Ninety-eight percent of the girls who start the program finish and their parents attest that the program makes a big difference in the lives of their girls. Bridle Up Hope would like to create a sustainable model in order to help tens of thousands of girls world wide. People from Japan, Dubai, and Estonia are already reaching out to start their programs. They will be hosting a golf tournament in April and a gala in October. Visit  bridleuphope.org  for more information.  This week we will hear from Mike Kipp, a former Navy Seal who is running for County Commissioner.
