Bulletin for November 20, 2014

Upcoming Rotary Programs December 4th - Roundtable Report of Provo Rotary Meeting Held November 20, 2014 President Ricky Hood  conducted today's meeting.   Joey Hansen  stepped in to lead the singing of the Nation Anthem and conducted the Pledge of Allegiance with  Ron Roberts  accompanying the National Anthem on the piano.  Following the pledge, Don Jarvis  gave the opening prayer.  Guests were introduced, and Chaplain duties were handled by  Vic Ludlow  and  on Clark Merkley  acted as Sgt. at Arms. SPEAKER Speaker  Jeff Winter  spoke IHC and Select Health and the mechanisms they use to improve result-oriented approaches for the doctors in our community.  He spoke on the way that this will be able to keep costs reduced while still ensuring high-quality medical care for the community.

Upcoming Rotary Programs November 20th - Mike Mann Report of Provo Rotary Meeting Held November 13, 2014 President Ricky Hood  conducted today's meeting.   Jill Moon  lead the singing of the Nation Anthem and conducted the Pledge of Allegiance with  Ron Roberts  accompanying the National Anthem on the piano.  Following the pledge,  Greg Hudnall  gave the opening prayer.  Guests were introduced, and Clark Merkley  performed the Sgt. at Arms duties for the day. SPEAKER Speaker  Kye Miner  spoke on the large number of benefits that Intermountain Health Care provided to the community and the reasons for their non-profit status.  She spoke of their charitable assistance options available to patients unable to pay for their medical bills, and other ways that IHC gives back to the community.

Upcoming Rotary Programs November 13, 2014 Report of Provo Rotary Meeting Held October 30, 2014 President Ricky Hood  conducted today's meeting.   Jill Moon  lead the singing of the Nation Anthem and conducted the Pledge of Allegiance with  Ron Roberts  accompanying the National Anthem on the piano.  Following the pledge,  Carol Walker  gave the opening prayer.  A number of guests were introduced, including several potential members (welcome Adam, Paul, and Vic), and there was no Chaplain report.  Sgt. at Arms duties were done by  Clark Merkley . SPEAKER The speaker this week was Tracy Heiner, who spoke on IHC's 100 day heart challenge, and the benefits that can accrue in 100 days from healthy eating, regular exercise, and wisdom concerning our physical health.  Her presentation was enlightening, and we all felt guilty for enjoying the delicious birthday cake that was served.

Upcoming Rotary Programs November 6, 2014 Report of Provo Rotary Meeting Held October 30, 2014 President Ricky Hood  conducted today's meeting.   Jill Moon  lead the singing of the Nation Anthem and conducted the Pledge of Allegiance with  Ron Roberts  accompanying the National Anthem on the piano.  Following the pledge,  Ron Pugh  gave the opening prayer.  Guests were introduced, and there was no Chaplain report.  Sgt. at Arms duties were done by Linda Pemberton  who asked questions concerning baseball. SPEAKER There was no speaker this week, to allow time for the roundtable discussing ideas for service and direction for the club.

Upcoming Rotary Programs October 30th - Roundtable Report of Provo Rotary Meeting Held October 23, 2014 President Ricky Hood  conducted today's meeting.   Jill Moon  lead the singing of the Nation Anthem and conducted the Pledge of Allegiance with  Ron Roberts  accompanying the National Anthem on the piano.  Following the pledge, Steve Sabin  gave the opening prayer.  Guests were introduced, and in a rare turn of events Chaplain duties and Sgt. at Arms were both bypassed in order to allow the maximum amount of time for our speaker. SPEAKER Speaker  District Governor Mike Wells  spoke on the District Conference and the goals of Rotary (including the theme of Light Up Rotary).  He spoke of the plans for service in Mexico, his experiences traveling with youth to do service there, and the opportunities that it provided.  He shared the ways that they would be able to help, and built excitement for the opportunities for real service and camaraderie.  At the end of hi

Report of Provo Rotary Meeting Held September 18, 2014 President Ricky Hood  conducted today's meeting.   Dean Jackson  lead the singing of the Nation Anthem and conducted the Pledge of Allegiance with  Ron Roberts  accompanying the National Anthem on the piano.  Following the pledge, Vaughn Park gave the opening prayer.  A number of guests attended this week, including Greg Taylor from Spanish Fork along with several guests from BYU-Rotary.  Charlotte Clark also visited the meeting again.  The Chaplain,  Vic Ludlow,  was not there so Jonathan Cavender  handled the chaplain duties for the week.   Tyler Vigue  handled Sergeant duties, asking BYU football trivia, and the fines were used to support Provo High School students.
