Rotary District 5420 has asked that all the Clubs in the District participate in a fund raiser for Rotary International's Polio Plus Campaign aimed to eliminate Polio from the earth.  The goal is close to fulfillment with only a few case now being reported in India and Pakistan.  In response to the District's challenge the Board is inviting every Rotarian in Club to participate.  The suggested contribution is $32.00 per member based on the District's request.  However, any contribution of any size will be welcome.  If you would like to participate, please make out a check payable to the Provo
Rotary Foundation and give it to Pete Pletsch.

David Rogers introduces speaker Stan Lockhart

David Rogers introduced today's speaker Stan Lockhart.  Stan came to talk about Utah's STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Initiative.  He noted that 1,000s of jobs in Utah go unfilled because there are not qualified applicants to fill them.  Those jobs are in the STEM areas.  The STEM Initiative was launched to increase awareness of the need for more emphasis on science and math in our secondary schools.  The goal is to try to attract more student to pursue these fields of study and graduate more students from college in these technical fields.
