December 22 and December 29: No meetings. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Report of the Weekly Luncheon Meeting held November 10, 2011

Today's luncheon meeting was held at Riverside Country Club. Stan Miller conducted with Ron Roberts at the piano leading the crowd in singing the Anthem and reciting the Pledge. An invocation was offered by Mike Jacobsen.
     Guests included Vic Morris as a guest of Les Smith; Barbara Blom and Catrine Sutter as guests of Alan Blom; Jerry Harper as a guest of Rick Gregory; and Roger Woolstulme, Jared Sumsion and Clint Burgi as guests of Mike Jacobsen.
     Stan Miller announced that quarterly bills for Rotary dues for the fourth quarter (October, November, December) are a couple of weeks late. Watch for them in the next week.

     Wayne Beesley had shoulder replacement surgery and is recovering at home.
     Paul Harris Fellowships were awarded to Alan Blom, Dan Ellertson and Paul Warner. All but the very newest members of our club are now Paul Harris Fellows! Congratulations Roatians!
     Andy Anderson served as sergeant with his usual wit and wisdom (?).
     Jeff Alexander introduced today's speaker, Coach Dick Hunsaker of the UVU basketball team. The coach spoke of the successes his team enjoyed last season and the difficulties recruiting when they compete in their current league. He said they are hoping to be invited to join the MountainWest Conference. The coach enjoys a superb reputation for his winning record.
     Presidential Parable for the week: One of the secrets of life is to make stepping stones out of stumbling blocks.
