President Steve Tolley commented about the fun evening last night as over 65 members of the club and their guests attended an evening barbecue at the ballpark then watched our own Orem Owlz beat the Missoula Osprey. It was a beautiful summer evening for the game.

Kris Forbush served as sergeant asking some Pioneer Day trivia.

Dean Jackson intoduced speakes Greg Cooper and Don Blackburn of the Cold Case Foundation. Greg has a distinguished background with the FBI and spent a stint as an instructor in “profiling” at the FBI Academy in Quantico, VA. He is involved in the Violent Criminal Apprehension Project.

The purpose of the Cold Case Foundation is to help with unsolved homicides, missing persons and unidentified bodies. To get an idea of what they do watch the TV series “Criminal Minds.” There are more than 20,000 homicides each year, most of which go unsolved. An average of 2,185 children are reported missing each day.

They hope to begin the National Academy of Investigative Sciences to train law enforcement officers of all agencies in criminal forensics. There are more than 17,000 law enforcement agencies in the US, each with its own political structure which makes coordination of investigations difficult.
