Todays meeting was conducted by President Glen Zaugg with Ron Roberts playing the piano and Jill Moon leading the singing of the National Anthem and Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.  The opening prayer was offered by Greg Hudnall.  

Guests included Jonathan Cavender, a potential new member of the Club; Ryan Sabins, more regular than a lot of us regular members, attended with his dad, Steve Sabins; and Shaun Frenza who attended on his own and is interested in looking into Club membership.  Carol Walker announced the Clear Horizon Golf Classic on July 21st to support children with Autism

April Birthday were Celebrated
The following Rotarians have birthdays in April:
Dean Jackson was born in Denver, Colorado;  Don Jarvis was born in Ithica, New York; Linda Palmer was born in Astoria, Oregon; and John Lewis was born in Mesa, Arizona.  These birthdays were appropriately celebrated.  Chaplin Paul Warner noted that Alan Blom has been ill but reported that he was unable to get an up date on his condition.  Alan, we hope you are feeling better and will be able to attend with us soon.  Ruth Riley handled Sergeant Duties fining all appropriately.

Clark Merkley, introduced Ronnie Daniel, Executive Director of the Alzheimer's Association of Utah.  Ronnie shared the fact that Alzheimers Disease is listed as the 6th leading cause of death in the country.  He stated if other cause that were complications of Alzheirmer's were included, it would be the 2nd or 3rd leading cause of death in America.  The disease can not be prevented, slowed or cured.  In the United States there are 5.2 MM people that have the condition.  One in nine people over 65 have the disease, and one in three people over 85 have the disease.

The ten signs of Alzheimer's Disease are: 1.  Memory Loss that disrupts Daily Life.  2. Challenges in Planning and Problem Solving.  3. Difficulthy completing Familiar Tasks.  4. Confusion with Time and Place.  5.  Trouble Understanding Visual Images and Spatial Relationships.  6.  New Problems with Words in Speaking or Writing.  7.  Misplacing Things and Losing the Ability to Retrace Steps. 8. Decreased or Poor Judgement.  9.  Withdrawal from Work or Social Activities. & 10.  Changes in Mood and Personality.
