Health care reform will affect all businesses and individuals in some way over the next few years. Come learn how it may effect you.
August 22, 2013: Annual Golf Outing at Hobble Creek Golf Course at Noon and
Summer Party at Jolley's Ranch in Hobble Creek Canyon at 6:30 pm
including the Canteen Committee's famous dinner.
Report of Provo Rotary Meeting Held August 8, 2013
Today's meeting was held at the Riverside Country Club at Noon with President Glen Zaugg conducting. Ron Roberts provided dinner music and Jill Moon lead the singing of the National Anthem and the Pledge of Allegiance. The invocation was offered by Linda Walker.
A number of visitors were introduced. Julie Bolton introduced Jason Roundy a local Real Estate Broker; Dean Jackson introduced Stan Swim, who is with Heritage School and a former piano player for the Club; Dan Ellertson introduced his wife, Carol; and Vic Ludlow and Tom Powell jointly introduced Al Cutler, a financial planner, tax accountant and potential new member of the club.

Other Business
President Glen Zaugg received several Rotary banners from Dean Jackson that he accumulated from Clubs around the world while traveling recently. Chaplin Paul Warner reported the good news that he was not aware of any health concerns within the Club. President Glen Zaugg presented Jeff Alexander with a pin representing his continued support to the Paul Harris Foundation. And Sergeant Darrell Jakins sharped out math skills including our arithmetic skills to figure out what our fines were.

BYU Law School Professor Lynn Wardle discussed the Same Sex Marriage Issue with the Club. Dr. Wardle, who teaches family law, represents the University and the LDS Church at various forums around the country and world on this issue.
Dr. Wardle reviewed where the various states in the United States and countries in the world stand on this issue. He also talked about the impact of recent court decisions. He presented his opinions about the impact of the changing public attitudes and laws regarding marriage. The statistics he presented supported his contention that traditional marriage as an institution is declining in this country. He expressed concern about the society impact of these changes.
