Report of Provo Rotary Golf Outing & Summer Party Held August 22, 2013

Summer Party

The annual Summer Party was held at Jolley's Ranch in Hobble Creek Canyon with the Canteen Committee providing the usual amazing steak and salmon dinner with all the trimmings.  The Canteen Committee made up of the Beesleys and the Parks absolutely out did themselves.  Thanks to them for a scrumptious dinner.

Following the dinner awards were given to those that participated in the golf outing.

Award winners included:  Ricky Hood who put his first shot 4 feet from the hole on #4.  Ethan Shumway had the longest drive on hole #8.  Brian Park, son of Vaughn Park made the longest putt on hole #9.  Scott Merrell, guest of Clark Merkley, had the longest putt made on hole #11.  Vic Morris, guest of Les Smith, was the closest to the hole on #16.  And Roger Woolstenhume, guest of David Rogers, had the longest drive on hole #18.  The grand prize, a certificate for four to play a round of golf at Wasatch Mountain State Park was won by the team of  Bruce Gilchrist and Danny Prager and their guests.  They shot a sizzling 10 under par.

Dean Jackson, master of ceremonies for the evening, conducted the remainder of the program.  The program honored three senior rotarians who have been successful in the professions and exemplary citizens in the community and great friends in the Rotary Club.  Those honored were Don Jarvis, Vic Ludlow, and Bruce Gilchrist.  Following the program, club members continued to socialize as the food was put away and park cleaned up.

The food was great, the company excellent, the setting spectacular, and the entertainment most enjoyable.  Fun was had by all.  Thanks to all the attended and helped make it a memorable day.
