Report of Provo Rotary Luncheon Meeting September 6, 2012
Today's meeting was held at Riverside Country Club. President Vaughn Park conducted with Ron Roberts and Jill Moon providing the music. An invocation was offered by Nathan Beesley.

V-Ann Ludlow underwent a knee replacement a few days ago and is recovering nicely.
The annual club golf party is next week. There will be no regular luncheon meeting until Thursday, September 20. The golf party is $55 for guests including golf, cart rental, dinner and favors. For those attending dinner only the cost is $20 each.
Dean Jackson is collecting for a new tennis court in tsunami-ravaged area of Japan. Contributions may be made to the Provo Rotary Foundation. 100% of your contribution will go for the intended purposes.

Val stated that there are two jobs in Utah Valley which really belong to the community: Director of the United Way of Utah Valley and the chamber president. Val has recently taken an assistant named Donna Milakovic, former executive-director of the Lehi chamber.

.Community involvement -- making Utah Valley a better place to live
.Information and education assistance
.Public policy voice -- advocating for business
WalMart is the biggest dues-paying member of the chamber.
What's next? Goals:
.Become the most tech-friendly chamber in the country
.Engage business leaders
.Collaborate with other economic entities
.Extend our influence beyond Orem and Provo
.Become a player in political circles
