•David Rogers introduced his guest Gary Jensen of Central Bank

The annual summer adult party is scheduled for Thursday evening, August 19, 2010 at the traditional location in Jolley’s Ranch in Hobble Creek Canyon. Each Provo Rotarian and one guest are invited at no charge. For many this is the favorite party of the year in the beautiful canyon setting. No reservations are necessary. There will be steak and salmon for everyone. Feel free to bring a guest who might enjoy Rotary membership.
Paul Harris Fellowships are awarded to those making a contribution of $1,000 or more to the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International. Each year we all contribute $100 which eventually adds up to an additional recognition. Jeff Alexander and Steve Tolley were recognized today for receiving an additional Paul Harris Fellowship.
President Steve Tolley recognized one of our waitresses at the Marriott who is serving us for the last time today and asked everyone to applaud Carrie for her excellent service.
Andy Anderson served as sergeant and conducted an auction for a lovely quilt made by Tamara Tolley.
Mike Jacobsen introduced speaker Chad Lewis who was an outstanding football player at BYU, served an LDS mission in Taiwan and went on to play for several years in the NFL. Chad spoke at some length about his father, Dr. Roger Lewis, an Orem Rotarian, who suffered a stroke a few years ago. He encouraged everyone to write a book. He published one last year and has a new one in the works which will be called “Power of the Jersey”. He spoke warmly of his relationship with Coach LaVell Edwards.
