Report from the Rotary International Convention

Tom Powell, with the support of his sweet wife, led the presentation on what transpired at this year's Rotary International Convention in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. Nathan Beesley, Ruth Riley, Dean Jackson, and David Rogers all also shared thoughts and insights from the Convention.

It was a wonderful meeting!

Our speaker this week was Sven Wilson, professor and chair of the Political Science Department at BYU.  Sven is also the visionary and founder of the Character First movement as highlighted on the Doug Wright show on KSL radio . For this week's meeting,  Sven focused his thoughts on rejecting the populist movement circulating in today's politics and spoke about the necessity of a strong leader who shows compassion and isn't afraid to admit when he or she is wrong. Just another way to keep politics civil and promote goodwill in all aspects of life.

Glenn Jakins visits Rotary

Today we were pleased to hear from Glenn Jakins. After being introduced by his brother and our fellow Rotarian Darrell Jakins, we were able to hear about his innovations and business ventures, as well as his journeys from Johannesburg, to Cape Town, to London, and eventually Utah.
