Odell Miner
Today we heard from Odell Miner, a candidate for Provo Mayor. Odell took questions from the group and talked a lot about the greatest asset that Provo has is its human capital; the people that live here.

He talked about the power of neighborhoods and people in those neighborhoods to solve problems.

We wish him well in the upcoming primary on August 15th.

Our speaker this week was Sven Wilson, professor and chair of the Political Science Department at BYU.  Sven is also the visionary and founder of the Character First movement as highlighted on the Doug Wright show on KSL radio . For this week's meeting,  Sven focused his thoughts on rejecting the populist movement circulating in today's politics and spoke about the necessity of a strong leader who shows compassion and isn't afraid to admit when he or she is wrong. Just another way to keep politics civil and promote goodwill in all aspects of life.
