Our speaker this week was Sven Wilson, professor and chair of the Political Science Department at BYU. Sven is also the visionary and founder of the Character First movement as highlighted on the Doug Wright show on KSL radio . For this week's meeting, Sven focused his thoughts on rejecting the populist movement circulating in today's politics and spoke about the necessity of a strong leader who shows compassion and isn't afraid to admit when he or she is wrong. Just another way to keep politics civil and promote goodwill in all aspects of life.
July 27, 2017 Wes Marriott Speaks to the Provo Rotary Club Wes Marriott, a local entrepreneur who is running for the city-wide seat on the Provo City Council was the speaker this week at the Provo Rotary Club. Wes focused his remarks on the need for local government to be innovative and engaging, and how the processes for citizens to participate in local government issues should be simplified and streamlined to be more accessible to all. July 20, 2017 Our guest presenter at Rotary on July 20th was BYU Professor and co-author of "The Business Ethics Field Guide,"Aaron Miller. Aaron challenged us to think about the variety of situations that we may have been in or may be in at some point where competing values and priorities actually create ethical dilemmas.
