Ruth Riley handled Sergeant duties.  She tested the knowledge of club members in the field of art (appropriate to our discussion) and it was sadly lacking.  Fines were issued accordingly.

John Lewis introduces speaker
John Lewis introduced Mark Magelby, Director of the BYU Museum of Art.  The museum is 21 years old and was built and is run 100% through donated funds.

Mark talked about the current Sacred Gifts Exhibit now showing at the museum.  This is a must see exhibit, with some very amazing painting by Carl Bloch, Heinrich Hofmann and Frans Schwartz.  This exhibit will be at the museum until April 14th.  Mark talked about how unusual it is for the kind of art that is on exhibit to travel and especially to BYU in America.  Some of the art has not been out of its original setting since it was commissions a hundred and fifty years ago.  He talked about the multi-year effort that was involved to make this exhibit happen.

In the future, there will be Exhibits of Rembrandt, Norman Rockwell and Japanese Art coming to the museum in Provo.
